Bone health and healthy lifestyles Workshop

  • JeKa Wellness 512 Main Street South Kingstown, RI, 02879 United States (map)

If you've been diagnosed with osteopenia, osteoporosis or have a family history of either, your doctor may have provided basic guidance—pamphlets, calcium, walking, and possibly medication. After receiving a diagnosis, it's common to feel initially shocked, scared of fractures, and overwhelmed by conflicting information from friends, family, and Dr. Google. However, it's crucial to recognize that you can make positive changes for you and your bone health. Despite the diagnosis, you are not resigned to a sedentary lifestyle or labeled as frail. You can pursue strength, energy, vibrancy, and a proactive approach to life. Attend our 3 week series: Understanding Osteoporosis (Week 1); Protecting Your Bones with Nutrition and Thoughtful Movement (Week 2); and Boning Up with Positive Lifestyle Changes to Improve Bone Density (Week 3). Each class will begin with an informational session and will be followed by a movement class to amplify the focus of the weeks theme. Led by Kate Dauphinais LMT, DPT, this workshop will help you on your way to being active, living vitally, and thriving as you move through life's journey. Cost: $45
